MySpace Artist Profile 3.0 Important Information
Artist/Band 3.0 Profiles are currently in Beta testing. Beta means it's not complete yet and still can change before it is finished. Since MySpace released it in Beta version, things may change often without notice. So please check back often for updates.
Currently 3.0 Artist Profiles allow custom CSS coding. The great thing about it a lot of the codes that work in 2.0 Regular User Profiles work in 3.0 Artist Profiles. So the codes are already there and ready to go! Just test them out for yourself. It may also be a good idea to open a 'test' 3.0 Artist Page to really test without worrying about affecting your main artist page. Be ahead of the curve and learn how to code the 3.0 Artist Profile now.
As with 2.0, Artist 3.0 Profiles are built on a div structure. This is a good thing! Way better than the previous 1.0 style table structure it was built on. This makes it easier to custom style the profile. The drawback is that MySpace currently filters pound (#) signs from 3.0. This means certain areas of the profile won't be customizable.
Currently, until MySpace adds a custom CSS Box for 3.0 Artist Profiles, all custom CSS codes go into your Bio section in Edit Profile, just like with the old profile type. Here are some step-by-step instructions on how to add custom CSS to the Bio section.
Step 1: Hover over Profile in the Top Nav Bar
Step 2: Click
Edit Profile
Step 3: Click Musician Details tab
Step 4: Click Edit under the Bio Section
Step 5: Enter in your custom CSS codes. All CSS codes must be wrapped in Style Tags, like this:
Step 6: After entering your codes, click Preview and then click Submit.
Step 7: Click View My Profile to see the changes you made.
Listed below are
some of the main modules in 3.0 Artist Profiles and their module selectors. There are simply too many to list them all. I also didn't list any of the modules that have pound (#) signs in them since the CSS codes won't work. Some of these will be the same as 2.0. Check back for updates, changes and additional modules added.
