Permission Based Friends and/or Comments Sections     |     Written: 06/11/08
So you want your page to be public but don't want pesky non-friends to see your friends list and/or comments section?  The premise here
is pretty simple and can fool most myspace users!

You will want to...

-Hide your friends and/or comments section first.

---to hide your friends section use this code:

---to hide your comments section use this code:

After you hide the section you don't want non-friends to view you will need to create a new blog for your friends section and/or comments
section with a link to those sections posted directly on the blog.

-Create a new blog.
---The content of the blog will only be a link TO your friends and/or comments section.  To get a full listing of all myspace user links
including friends and/or comments links

For example, when you make your blog you will want it to say this for the friends section:
CLICK HERE TO VIEW FRIENDS LIST! <--and
this text here will be linked TO http://friends.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewfriends&friendID=XXXXX replacing the x's with
your friend id.  That way any user that views this blog will see the friends link and click on it to view your friends link.

To create a link use this code:

-Before saving the blog, there is a button on the bottom....
this is the key.  You will want to save the blog as FRIENDS ONLY (I suggest two
separate blogs if you are hiding both friends and comments with one link in each).  SO....you have just given this blog permission based
settings for your friends only to view it.  So what happens when a non-friend clicks your blog link that says view friends?? They are denied
access leaving them wondering who your friends and/or comments are/say.

-The last step to finish this is to then create a link on your page to your new blog.  You can either leave the blog in the top right of your
page in your blogs section if you have your blogs not hidden and displaying, but if you post more blogs it may move off your profile page
eventually.  So its probably best to embed a link directly on to your page to this new blog (use the above create a link code to do so).

Something like this:
View All Friends Here <---then have this linked to your new friends only blog with your new link in it.

-Thats it, your done.  To see an EXAMPLE of this permission based friends section

Its pretty simple in retrospect but if you have questions on this tutorial just
let me know.  Remember though, some users are creative, and
ultimately if your page is public anyone can see your friends and/or comments section with the right know-how.

Whelp, You seen it here first!

Happy myspacing!
